                                GLASS RECYCLING SUPPORTS THE PORTUGUESE LEAGUE AGAINST CANCER
                            
                            
                                Last Wednesday, VALORLIS hosted the presentation of the results of the ‘Com o vidro no coração’ (With glass in our hearts) project, co-financed by Sociedade Ponto Verde and created with the aim of promoting glass recycling in the HORECA channel (hotels, restaurants and cafés).

                                6% growth in recycling by 2024
                            
                            
                                Valorlis, the company responsible for the treatment and recovery of urban waste in the municipalities of Batalha, Leiria, Marinha Grande, Ourém, Pombal and Porto de Mós, saw a 6% increase in the selective collection of plastic, metal, cardboard and glass packaging compared to 2023.
Selective collection of recyclables enabled 18,310 tonnes of waste to be sent for recycling. Of this amount, 7,208 tonnes correspond to paper/cardboard, which increased by 8% compared to 2023, 4,886 tonnes relate to plastic/metal/ECAL packaging, which increased by 9% compared to the previous year, and 6,215 tonnes of glass, a figure that remained more stable, with a slight increase of 2%.
