Valorlis will be present on the region's beaches in July and August with the ‘EcoPraias + Vidro’ campaign, created with the aim of increasing the amount of glass packaging collected and sent for recycling during the bathing season.
‘EcoPraias + Vidro’ is an awareness campaign carried out by Valorlis in partnership with the municipalities in the region, which promotes glass recycling among the HORECA channel, hotels, restaurants and cafés, by providing 3m3 recycling bins equipped with a fill sensor and a tipper for assisted emptying of the 120-litre green containers provided to each participating establishment, thus facilitating access to the recycling bin by the HORECA channel.
With the slogan ‘Let's recycle on the beaches,’ Valorlis monitors will carry out awareness-raising activities with the HORECA channel on the following beaches: São Pedro de Moel and Vieira de Leiria beaches in Marinha Grande and Pedrogão beach in Leiria, encouraging the adoption of habits for separating recyclable packaging and clarifying doubts about the correct separation of waste.
Marta Loia Guerreiro, Executive Director of Valorlis, explains, ‘With this initiative, Valorlis aims to facilitate the process of depositing glass packaging for the HORECA channel, thereby increasing the quantities of glass packaging collected and sent for recycling during the summer period.’ She adds, ‘We are committed to ensuring that the recovery of waste produced on the region's beaches continues to be carried out in the most sustainable way possible, and we are counting on the help of the population.’
